Hoodoo is Enough
and I could be coming to a city near you!
Happy Black History Month!
I’ve been quiet in this space for a while but that’s because I’ve been working on some cool offerings for the Hoodoo community with fellow custodians of the tradition. I’ve got some exciting virtual and in-person events coming up and I want you to join me!
Hoodoo Is Enough
February 24 | Virtual on Zoom | 4:30 PT / 7:30 ET
featuring special guests Xolani, Sara Makeba Daise, & Tea of Grandma Baby Apothecary
During this centennial commemoration of Black History Month, we are honoring the history, influence, and impact of Hoodoo--a thriving African American religion and tradition. In a society that insists upon continuing anti-Black violence and discrimination, Hoodoo has been a hedge of protection and a healing balm to Blackfolk in America for hundreds of years. It didn’t just help our ancestors resist and survive enslavement; it continues to be a complex, full, self-sufficient, and relevant spiritual tradition.
In the world of AI and modern day Hoodoo marketeering, folks have tried to replace our tradition with environmentally harmful technology, combine it with other traditions, or belittle and bastardize the mighty name of Hoodoo. The truth is Hoodoo is a powerful, ancestral tradition that is as potent now as it was on the plantation.
Xolani, Sara Makeba Daise, Tea, and I look forward to getting into the REALNESS of why Hoodoo is so important and why she deserves the highest respect & reverence.
The Talkin’ Table w/ the Twin Hoodoo Muthas
In-person in Atlanta, GA | April 18
In-person in Oakland, CA | May 2
Just as we gather around the kitchen table and confer with our loved ones, so too do the spirits here at the Talkin’ Table.

The Twin Hoodoo Muthas [If you didn’t know; I am 1/2 of the Twin Hoodoo Muthas and I wrote a post about an experience at one our events] prepare the table as a sacred crossroads [a meeting place] with a spiritual feast (offering, libation, song, and prayer) to honor and attract your beloved ancestors and spirit guides.
Proper invocation in a sacred setting stimulates the Spirit to commune with us and offer healing, transformative, and liberating messages to support your journey. At the end of the night, participants will enjoy a meal to help ground the physical body and aid the digestion of encounters, healings, and messages received.
Early bird tickets (Atlanta early bird tickets are sold out!) and payment plans available for a limited time!
And that’s not all! I have so many wonderful events and offers coming soon. I can’t wait to share them with you. And I hope to see you virtually or in-person real soon!
With Hoodoo Might,
Jeida K. Storey
